Low-Iodine Diet

I have to go back on a low-iodine diet for the next two weeks.  I am not at all excited about this but mainly because I can't have any dairy.  I love my milk!  Hopefully we will be so busy these  next two weeks that this goes by quickly.  Until then, I will just watch my kids drink milk and be jealous.
Here goes.

Sweetest Thing

I got a text from sister the other day sharing this picture with me.  This is what the text said, "I was looking for Addi and this is how I found her.  She just loves Jordan.  Prays for him in every prayer." I loved it!  It made my day.  Later when I asked Addi about it she told me that "he was watching me."  Yep he would totally do that.  He would watch over he as she plays.  It kind of reminded me of our loving Heavenly Father who watches over us as we do everything.  Isn't it great to have that comfort.

Science Fair Madness

This guy had to put up his display for the science fair this morning.  We are so glad to be finished with it.  Now hopefully he will be able to answer all the judges questions.  Great job Bryson!

Corn hole

So Brian and I are in charge of my family reunion this year.  I have a lot of fun ideas to do and decided that I would start getting some of the stuff ready now.  I have been wanting to make a corn hole board for a long time and decided that this is a good reason to get one made.  Well it wasn't very much more money to make two of them so that's what we did.  Saturday was such a beautiful day that I spent it outside painting them and getting them ready. I love the finished result.  My dad is going to spray them with polyurethane but other than that they are finished.  Now to use them!

Bowling Our Way

A while I ago we got together with my family and went bowling.  It was a lot of fun!  Now you need to know that we don't bowl like normal people but I think we laughed so much that it was fine.  And not everyone was willing to be crazy with us but we all had fun.

I got to bowl blindfolded.  Let me tell you it was hard.  Later on my daughter had to do this same thing.  She wasn't quite so graceful.  Her ball ended up jumping a lane and getting stuck.  One of the workers had to come and get it for us.  He told Sheridan, "Thanks so muck!  I have always wanted to see that happen."  She was so embarrassed but it was hilarious.

Here Sheridan had to "Granny bowl."  She is so much fun.

Back to me again and I had to bowl with my feet.

My sister, Elayne, had to bowl sitting on someone knee.  Thankfully Her husband and daughter were willing to help her out.

Shayleigh had to bowl over someone so Sheridan hit the ground and was the brave one here.

Elayne had to bowl laying down.

The rest of the family bowled normal and just thought we were crazy.

Provo Temple

We got tickets to the Prove Temple Open House.  We waited in line for about an hour to get in but it was worth the wait.  The temple was beautiful and so fun to see the transformation.

Here are my cute kids!

As strange as it seems this was my family picture.  It is still weird for me to not have Jordan around all the time.  Where we go places like this and I look around to find all my kids I have to remind myself that he's on his mission now.

Brian sister and her family joined us on this trip.

This is one of the grand kids are the Sorensen side.

My mom and dad met us and went on the temple tour with us.  It was so nice.

Ice Castle

This weekend we went up to Midway to the ice castles.  It was so cool!  I was a little worried when we pulled up  because it didn't look too big but as we started walking through it we realized that it was pretty awesome!

We went with Brian's family.  This is the Boyter's.

And of course us.  It still is weird for me to see these pictures and not have Jordan in them.  It doesn't really feel like a family picture to me.

This picture just shows how cool the castle looks with the sun shining behind it.

Here is one of me and my Valentine!  Sure do love this guy!

Here is what it looks like when you get inside and look up.  Cool huh?

We had to laugh at this one.  My girls are face pullers>  Who knew?

Brian thought he would be funny and snap a picture of me as I was coming out of the dome.

Out of all my kids, Bryson enjoyed the castle the most.  He could have stayed there all day.  He found this tunnel to climb through.  Later McKenzi and Sheridan followed him.

Having a little fun with the girls.

To end the day here was a slide the boys got to play on and have a little fun.

Last Year of Valentine Boxes

I know there are mom's out there that love making Valentine's Boxes.  I am not one of them.  This has been really hard for me because I really don't enjoy it.  So I was so excited to get this one finished because it's my last one.  Even though I don't want this guy to grow up that is one thing that I am very grateful for.  Anyways we always postpone it until the night before we need to have them finished.  So last night we stayed up making a "Mine craft" stone block and diamond pick ax.  Bryson was thrilled with his box and I was thrilled it was finished.  All in all it was a great ending to the day.

Fog

I had to take an early morning trip to Provo the other day.  It was foggy.  I love the fog.  It has kind of an eerie feeling that comes with it but I still think it's pretty cool.  My favorite part though was when I drove out of the fog and could see the sunrise with the mountains and all the fog around it.

50th Anniversary

I am a little late posting this but we celebrated Brian's parents 50th anniversary this past month.  For some strange reason I was asked to make the cake.  Now you need to know that I have never decorated a cake before.  Sure I have frosted plenty but not really anything fancy.  Needless to say I was a little nervous but I still did it.  I know it didn't turn out perfect but I was quite pleased with the out come.

Closet

I have a fairly small master closet and I happen to be married to a pack rat.  Needless to say my closet has been a cluttered disaster my entire married life.  It finally came to a point where I couldn't stand it any longer.  So I decided that we were going to clean it out and redesign it so we could have more storage space.
This is the picture before. I am almost embarrassed to show it.  It's a mess, I know!

So I talked Brian into helping me and we spent a few hours emptying the closet.  Then we spent a Saturday building new shelves.  It was kind of fun.  We had an idea drawn up of what we wanted, however as we started building it we realized that a few things needed to be changed.  All in all it went pretty well.  The hardest part was getting my idea built in with the studs and such.  We spend a couple nights after work painting.  Then finally came the day when we could start putting stuff back into the closet.  I tried to go through each thing and decide if I really needed it or not.  Brian on the other hand just started putting everything back in until I asked him to stop for the night and then look through it all in the morning.  So hopefully he will really do that.  Until then this is what we have as our finished project.  I love it!!

New Begninnings

We choose the theme of "Start Where You Are" as our New Beginnings theme this year.  We felt that is was important for all of our girls to realize that they don't need to worry about what everyone else is doing but only to be concerned about where they were individually.  I think it's a good lesson for all of us.  We can follow the same counsel.
 Start Where You Are
Use What You Have
Do What You Can

Sick

I have a sick little girl, ok she's not so little but she has been sick.  We took her to the hospital on Sunday.  She got elbowed in the neck and basketball and has caused some swelling and some air pockets in her neck.  She also has an infection.  So thankful for great doctors that can help treat illness.  Hopefully we can get her better.  Although she did think it was pretty cool to get an iv.
