My husband and I are opposites when it comes to playing in the snow and getting stuck. He loves it! It makes me a little nervous. However, that's exactly what happened to us. To be completely honest this is the first time I have ever been in a vehicle that got stuck and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought I would have been. Thankfully some people in jeeps came by and they helped get us out. The only bad part of this adventure is that we didn't make it into the cabin. Oh well give it a few weeks and we will get in. Can't wait for summer.

Small town life
Sometimes living in a small town is hard. You know everyone and they all know you and everything you do. However, I truly love small town life. I love that neighbors are there to help you out. I love that you can let your kids run and play and not worry too much. I love the feeling of family among the entire town. But mostly I love the support we give and get from each other. We celebrate victories with each other. This year we had one girl on the track team that took first place in her events at track. To honor her the local fire department took the entire track team on the truck down main street with sirens blaring. I love it!! And lucky for us Sheridan was on that track team. She got to share in the love of our small town.

A Hole in the Wall
Last night we took down some of our cupboards in the kitchen. When McKenzi saw the blank wall she wanted to punch a hole in it. Being the nice mom that I am I said she could as long as I could video it. This is what happened!
So after she did so well, Sheridan wanted to take a stab at it. She did a lot better on her punch.
Not to be outdone by her sister McKenzi tried again. It hurt just as bad the second time.
Who knew that remodeling our house would be so much fun!!

Sunday nights at our house
We are remodeling our house. If you have never done this before just know that you live in a construction mess when you do this. Anyway we started emptying our kitchen cupboards after church on Sunday. Our neighbors, the Hallidays came over with a few boxes for us to use and ended up staying and tearing out the subfloor in our entryway. To me that is one of the blessings of living in a small town. Your neighbors are your friends and your friends help out with anything you need. It's just a great feeling.
After we got the floor our we decided to take a break and play some corn hole. It was just a nice relaxing, fun way to end the day.

State track
We were so excited for Sheridan this year. She qualified for state track as a freshman in two events: the disc and the 4X100 relay. The weather was awful so Brian and I had to cuddle under and umbrella. Sheridan hurt her back the day before so didn't do as well as she normally does. She did take 15th in the disc though and second to last in the relay. It was really quite a fun event to watch. She has done really well in track this year and was super excited to letter in it.

Jane Eyre
I love these friends of mine. We have had so much fun with our season tickets to Hale Center. This time we went to Jane Eyre and it was fabulous. But the best part was after. We went out for desert and then stopped at Elayne's house and visited all evening. We laughed and Katie cried a little but it was great. Good friends are such an important part of my life. I love these ladies!

A Visit At Work
My girls are so cute. They come and visit me at work quite often. I love to hear their stories of the day. Today's stories were of drinking water out of the river to hosting the middle school track and field day. I never quite know what to expect to come out of their mouths. It's great. McKenzi tried to hide from the camera, little does she know that I could still see her.
As for Sheridan, she had a sore back and was trying to stretch it out.

Twins?!?!
I have to laugh a little at my girls. When they were younger they absolutely refused to wear anything that would even look a little a like. They always said that they were individuals and didn't want to match anyone else. Sometimes it was really quite difficult. Anyway this past weekend was state softball. Wouldn't you know it that all of a sudden it was ok to match. They dressed just alike to go support our girls team. I just had to sit back a laugh a little. I will probably never figure these two out. Oh well, I love them anyways!!

Yikes!!
Saturday I was at the swimming pool with my girls when I got this text from my husband who was at a scout camp with my youngest son:
"I have fell about 8 ft, well I jumped and my foot slipped out and I landed on my back and my right elbow. My elbow is sore bit it seams to be OK. I am not sure about my back, it hurts pretty bad right now. I don't think I have broke it. At least I hope I haven't. I will call when I can, not much service down here."
Then he sent me this picture of it right after it happened.
Luckily when he got home we had a CT scan and it's not broken. He just has a few bulged disks and some swelling. As if that's not enough but we feel blessed that he ok.

Little brothers
My girls love having a little brother! He is so fun and full of life. Most of the time he just makes them laugh. He kind of rules the roost. They both would do just about anything for him, all he has to do is ask and they give him his way. Sometimes though it's tough on him. He gets roped into all kinds of girly stuff. This morning he had to model a mask for Kenzi. He usually does things willing and with a smile. Today was no different. We are so lucky to have him in our lives. Love you Bryson!

Mother's Day
Mother's Day has always been hard for me. I love that it is a chance to really honor my mom but I have always felt a little lacking. You go to church and hear how fabulous other mom's are and I think, "Man, I really stink as a mother. My poor kids." Anyway it's something I have been working on. This year was amazing though. My family really made me feel special. To top it off we got to skype with my son, Elder Sorensen. Those moments mean so much. It's the best thing a missionary mom could ask for. I love my family. I love my husband and my kids. This year I discovered that even though I am no where near the type of mom I want to be, it's ok. I am surrounded by great people and we are all doing the best we can. What could be better than that? So this was my first truly Happy Mother's Day.

Butterfly
The other day my neighbors found a cocoon at their house. They watched it and eventually this beautiful butterfly came out. We all admired it's beauty and watched it as it started flying. It's not something we see a lot so we were fascinated. It's amazing to me that our Heavenly Father created such a beautiful place for us to live. There is always something amazing to see if we just take the time to look for it.
