A Sprained Ankle

I am thirty something years old and I got my first sprained ankle the other day.  Can you believe that?  Well it's a pretty funny story and I have to share it.  I was at work and need to run the deposit over to the bank.  (I just walk across the street to do that.)  Anyway I was on my way over and stepped off the curb into the main highway and my ankle rolled.  Now I didn't fall gracefully.  No I fell flat on my face on the road.  I sprained my ankle, cut up my knees and hands but I didn't loos a single check from the deposit.  Now that takes some kind of skill.  So I get up and look around and I don't think a single person saw it.  I wish I could have watched because I bet it was hilarious.  That night I was trying to help my husband and kids move our furniture back into our bedroom and twisted it even more.  Thankfully I have a great husband that wrapped it up and iced it for me while he put the rest of the stuff back into my room.  Here's to all the graceful moments we have in our lives!!

  1. I'm sorry you sprained your ankle. Your story reminded me of a funny thing that happened on the 4th of July. We were sitting at the start of the parade route and the flag was in front of us. A lady with a political party just started walking and rolled her foot on the edge of the pavement causing her to fall. She ended up having the ambulance get out of line to come take her to the hospital with a broken ankle. The parade was stopped with everyone watching her for about 20 minutes. It was pretty dang funny but I did feel bad for the lady. My kids still laugh when they think of the lady stopping the parade just as it started.
